It would have been a marathon but there were 2 absences so we had 4 entertaining speeches today. Rachel was our toastmaster for 2 weeks in a row, plus introducer of all 4 speeches, plus table topics master so well done to her on multiple roles and plenty of speaking time under her belt.
Today we heard from the following:
1. Danny de Hek “Blog, Blog, Blog” an educational on handy tips and pointers on our website and also on how to post a blog.
2. Brent Ruru “3,3,5,3” a motivational speech to get us to do or think about the following:
3 big goals for this year
3 most valuable priorities to me
5 daily rituals on how to be a better me
3 things about today that put a smile on my face
3. Roydon Gibbs (Toastie Winning) “the way of Wu Wei” a folk tale with intriguing suspense and a moral that tied together “doing and not doing”.
4. Helen McLeod “Warning Warning Winged Warriors Approaching” Beware sparrows are not nice little birds; they are a health hazard.
Table Topic Speakers included
Brett: “If I ran a marathon…”
Caleb: “Longest period not talking”
Kevin: “Flag Stories”
Alannah: “The marathon; heaven or hell?”
