New Year Resolutions
Rachel’s theme above was interspersed throughout the meeting which today saw David Clarkson with a (toastie winning) speech “What Flag?” which was both informative, timely and made good use of technology. Time will tell if we adopt a new flag.
“Lend an Arm” an interesting titled speech by Caleb Vercoe made sense once we found it was about the benefits and reasons for regularly donating blood . Ironically a speech subject that requires injections in its process had a primary objective of “get to the point”.
Vivien Cowey delivered a goal setting themed speech entitled “Are we there yet?” and included some worthy quotes such as: “Do people inspire you or drain you?” and “Work hard in silence and let success make the noise”.
The Table Topic mistress Terrelle presented four interesting and themed topics that Garry (mid-year resolutions) Helen (Scottish dancing) Sharleen (finishing the Arts Centre) and Roydon (How many roads must a man walk down before one can call him a man).
Our General Evaluator Brent Evans reinforced his love of goal setting and gave informative, enthusiastic feedback on the meeting, including a tip if running late to Boaters : “If you are going to be late come in through the back door”.
