Steve Thomas bowled us for a 6 with a Cricket theme this morning, captaining us through a winning innings – a wildcard for someone that confessed he knows nothing about the game!

Shane Reeves as Grammarian was the first Batsman with a big hit “Let’s Talk Cricket” Poem.

Esther’s pre-game educational training run put us in good stead to produce a Boater’s Team of successful long term all-rounders.  Esther led us through a game plan of options for us to continue to achieve success.

Jennifer’s debut innings produced another big 6, surprising us with her confidence at the crease delivering her Ice-breaker “Hill Walking Around the World”.  Watch this space for a future top performing batsman even if the winning formula includes unwashed socks.

Kevin Warwood produced another solid innings, showing that lots of training leading up to the game produces the big hit.  Kevin put more runs on the board sharing his International level performance – “Good Solo Dad”  Good luck at the big game on the 18th Kevin, your team mates will be on the bank cheering you on.

Feilding Cup Holder – Rodney Ford lead the after break match with batsmen producing “Runs of the Board” – Steve Mylowski, “Googlies” – Vivien Cowey, an “Out for a Duck” – Amanda Cartridge, the “Fading Light” – Kevin Cusack and leaving the team “Stumped” – John Kelly with an outstanding retiring performance.  John has been a key player in the Boaters Club Team, leaving a big loss – watch out Blenheim you have a big hitter coming your way!  John, you will always be welcome to make a guest appearance in our batting line up

Big thanks to Steve for a great game!

Claire
