Sandra Smith fired us up and into the first meeting of the year with a thought provoking theme, 2015 – A FRESH START OR MORE OF THE SAME.  My favourite quote was “What New Year Brings To Us Is What We Bring To The New Year”

Grammarian – David Cooper continued to spark us up with the challenge to use and respond to hearing “Slingshot – a better place”

The 3 speakers all contributed to an inspiring motivational start to the year.

Brent Ruru’s – “Enriching Habits” – provided some convincing statistics comparing the habits of Wealth and Poverty groups.  Regardless of your own definition of Wealth and Poverty the key differences became obvious in the Habits these people keep.

Nathan Najib’s – “Power of Goals & Visions” set us in good stead to make the most of the year ahead by offering the 7 step process he lives by, humbly sharing some of the successes he has had using this model.

John Kelly – with “Decisions” gave the finale of the 3 speeches rounding out the synergies as if it was planned.  Wincing and laughing, almost feeling John’s real life experiences in the differences of Bad, Good and Pre-emptive decision types, we were reminded the success of achieving our goals is about the planning.

Nicola Taylor’s – “New Year Resolutions” Table Topics participants entertained us with their take on beliefs, traditions, what date it should be, what we would change, what we repeat yearly and whether they should be broken.  A sterling effort from two of our guests.

Welcome back Toastmasters, with the gems passed on in this meeting we are all prepped to achieve great things this year – no excuses!
