Pauline kicked off the meeting as Sergeant at Arms, and introduced our Toastmaster for the day, Deb. Deb introduced us to the theme for the day, wealth. Throughout the meeting, Deb enlightened us with quotes and challenges about what constitutes wealth.

It was great to welcome so many guests to the meeting…Brent F, Jerome, Brent H, Geoff and Hayley, Sophia, Phil, Jan.

Our Grammarian for the day, Brent R, brought us the word for the day ‘improvement’. It was superb to notice so many people making the effort to incorporate the word of the day into their speaking.

Brett Snow was speaker number one with his speech ‘My life with dental allergies: a tough road to travel’. It was a very informative speech with a lot of food for thought about the allergens used in dental work.

Kevin Cusack was up next letting us know all about ‘July Activities’.
“It’s a lovely month this month of July to be saying it’s a lovely month”

Alannah brought a fabulous array of table topics:
Alana ‘How I got so rich’…thanks to relative Humphrey

Brent H ‘If you were Bill Gates what would you spend your millions on to save the world’…Apple computers of course!

Jerome ‘Why credit cards should be outlawed’…a humorous retelling of a credit card story gone wrong

Phil ‘Is there something you need to tell us before the GCSB starts spying’…a warning of the pitfalls if there were no secrets in the world

Tina ‘Someone you admired as a child who taught you about wealth’…Mother Teresa’a challenge that wealth came from helping others

Steve ‘First thoughts upon receiving cute fluffy cat emails’…delete, delete, delete!

Geoff ‘Some crazy things you have collected over your life’…these shoes are made for walking

All in all, another friendly, fun and fascinating Friday morning.
